{"id":154,"date":"2011-05-19T15:14:38","date_gmt":"2011-05-19T15:14:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/positivementalimagery.com\/blog\/?p=154"},"modified":"2012-12-07T22:52:55","modified_gmt":"2012-12-07T22:52:55","slug":"minute-mental-golf-tips-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/positivementalimagery.com\/blog\/minute-mental-golf-tips-3\/","title":{"rendered":"How do you know if you need mental coaching for your golf game?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Most golfers don\u2019t believe they need mental instruction even though they repeatedly say that golf is a \u201cmental game\u201d when they make a mistake.\u00a0\u00a0Here are some mental weaknesses to help you decide:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When you aren\u2019t able to take your game from the range to the golf course.<\/li>\n<li>When you finish a round of golf and mainly talk about what you <strong>didn\u2019t <\/strong>do, and what you <strong>could<\/strong> have done.<\/li>\n<li>When you are thinking more about swing mechanics, other players, or outside distractions than on playing your game.<\/li>\n<li>When you lose control of your game and can\u2019t get it back.<\/li>\n<li>When you have the \u201cfirst tee jitters\u201d, or short game \u201cyips\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>When your game falls apart in competition.<\/li>\n<li>When you aren\u2019t playing up to your potential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It may take years to develop a sound golf swing, and to understand your on-course personality in relation to course management, but it is possible for a person to learn mental skills that will produce maximum results from his\/her own capability right away.<\/p>\n<p>The golf swing is a very complicated maneuver using many different muscle groups, at times moving in opposing directions.
